How it works:
The Cutera® excel V™ is a unique tunable laser system combining two ultra-precise, best-in-class laser wavelengths to deliver versatile and highly accurate treatments for both superficial and deep vascular conditions. The laser beam is pulsed over the skin’s surface, targeting the hemoglobin in the intended vessel. Once treated, the vessel absorbs the laser energy and is thereby eliminated in the process. The body then sets to work clearing away this debris, revealing a more even and clear skin tone.

Vascular Laser Frequently Asked Questions
You can expect to feel a stinging and/or snapping sensation, depending on the size of the blood vessels that are treated. The excel V™ improves comfort by actively cooling the skin during the treatments.
Depending on the condition being treated, there can either be an immediate improvement or it may take 2 weeks to begin to see improvement that will continue to evolve over the next 6-8 weeks. Depending on the depth and breadth of the vessels requiring treatment, repeat sessions may be required to achieve optimal results.
Once the recovery period has passed, and the treated vessels have cleared away, the surface texture of your skin will be smoother and redness will be reduced. When it comes to the face, your complexion can be more even in its tone and your skin may look more radiant.
The recovery time for this treatment is about 7-14 days. Some of the targeted vessels may become darkened and will slowly fade away as they are eliminated by the body.
We recommend avoiding the sun at peak times and wearing protective clothing. Applying an antioxidant serum in combination with a broad spectrum sunscreen every day, rain or shine, is also helpful. Avoiding temperature extremes as well as foods that may trigger flushing may also help to prevent future damage.
