About PICO Genesis™ treatments in Victoria.
If days spent soaking up golden rays have left you with brown spots or even hard-to-treat melasma, a pigment laser treatment can help to reveal a more even and radiant skin tone. PICO Genesis™ is an advanced laser solution for the treatment of pigmentation and melasma. The treatment combined the benefits of two highly effective wavelengths and uses ultra-short picosecond (trillionths of a second) pulses to treat all skin types more comfortably, and in fewer treatment sessions than traditional lasers. By stimulating collagen synthesis, skin texture can also be improved.
PICO Genesis™ helps with:
- age spots
- acne scars
- sun damage
- skin texture & tone
How it works:
PICO Genesis™ targets and destroys pigment in your skin without causing damage to surrounding tissues. Using ultra-short picosecond pulses, the targeted pigment is broken up into smaller particles that are more easily eliminated by the body’s natural processes. Because it uses a non-thermal laser, PICO Genesis™ provides a comfortable treatment, results in fewer treatment sessions, and virtually no downtime; skin is left looking radiant without redness or swelling.

PICO Genesis™ Frequently Asked Questions
The PICO Genesis laser procedure feels like a quick rubber band snap against your skin. A topical anesthetic may be applied to minimize potential discomfort.
Depending on the type of pigmentation being treated, your desired outcome may be achieved in as little as a single treatment. Certain types of pigmentation will require subsequent or ongoing treatments to achieve and maintain the desired outcome.
The goal of PICO Genesis™ laser treatments is to minimize or completely remove unwanted pigmentation. Expectations and outcomes will be carefully reviewed once the spot is properly diagnosed.
After treatment, you may experience temporary discolouration or reddening of the skin surrounding the treatment site. In the days following, there may be some slight flaking or swelling, but in most cases there is no downtime.
Pigmentation is activated by sun exposure, so we recommend applying an antioxidant serum in combination with broad spectrum sunscreen every day, along with use of a gentle daily lightening cream to maintain an even skin tone. Additionally, avoiding the sun at peak times and wearing protective clothing is helpful.
