About IntimaLase® in Victoria.
Pregnancy and biological aging are among the greatest of human privileges. They can also impact the female body in challenging ways that very few women are comfortable discussing for fear of embarrassment or shame. The fact is, many women are affected by urinary incontinence, vaginal laxity, relaxation syndromes, menopause and other feminine changes experienced postpartum and with natural aging. These conditions not only impact the physical health of those affected, but their emotional well-being and quality of life. Until now, solutions for these conditions included invasive surgeries, or vaginal exercises like kegels. Thankfully, women in Victoria no longer have to suffer in silence thanks to IntimaLase®, a unique laser therapy for incisionless, non-invasive, photothermal tightening of the vaginal canal.
IntimaLase® helps with:
- vaginal laxity
- vaginal relaxation syndrome
- urinary incontinence
- stress urinary incontinence
How it works:
IntimaLase® is a fast, effective, and safe procedure to address the very common and personally concerning symptoms of tonal loss, discomfort and physiological changes women experience as a result of vaginal childbirth or natural aging with no undesired side effects. During the procedure a special attachment, similar to a speculum used during a Pap test, is inserted into the vagina. Through this attachment, the vaginal canal is treated with short non-ablative laser pulses through a small handpiece. The IntimaLase® laser heats the vaginal tissue, stimulating collagen remodeling and the synthesis of new collagen fibers in the vaginal tissue. The result of this 15-30 minute procedure is a remodeling and tightening of the vaginal canal.

IntimaLase® Frequently Asked Questions
Some patients may experience mild pain or a burning, itching sensation at the entrance of the vagina during the treatment. However, the discomfort is usually minimal, and the treatment is very well tolerated without anesthesia.
Results of the IntimaLase® treatment vary, but many patients see a significant tightening of the vaginal canal after just one treatment. If required, the treatment can be repeated a second time after one month. Many patients report a noticeable improvement within the first week, with the results from the treatment developing over a period of four to eight weeks as new collagen continues to develop.
Following their IntimaLase® treatment, patients report noticeable improvements in vaginal tightness, sexual satisfaction, and quality of life.
There is absolutely no downtime associated with the IntimaLase® procedure. Patients can immediately return to their regular activities following treatment, though we recommend refraining from sexual activity for 24-48 hours. Some patients may experience some mild swelling and redness, which should subside within 2-3 days.
