Proper care of the skin involves protection from excess sun and various elements, using creams to correct past damage and to stimulate the natural processes that lead to a healthier, more youthful appearance. Adjunctive skin care is critical to maintaining optimal treatment results.

Cosmedica recommends the ABC's of skin care for Victoria, BC patients.  Vitamin A or a suitable alternative for more sensitive skin types will exfoliate, correct and stimulate collagen.  This helps with fine lines, skin texture, pigment and laxity.  The B is for Block - daily sunscreen.  Dr. Lupin is Regional Director for the Canadian Dermatology Association and Spokesperson for Sun Awareness.  As such, Cosmedica seeks out Canada's best sun protection options.  We pride ourselves on offering a broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 for every skin type and personality.  Daily UV protection is our leading defense against environment skin damage.  Lastly, our C stands for Vitamin C - but not just any Vitamin C.  L-Ascorbic Acid, the highest pharmaceutical-grade Vitamin C, is the only form proven to penetrate the dermis and defend against Infrared and free radicals.  Vitamin C is also anti-inflammatory and brightening - helping to improve and maintain an even skin tone.  To help Victoria patients with an optimal skin care program, Cosmedica offers simplified, custom kits designed exclusively for our centre by SkinCeuticals.  The Fundamentals - ABC's - are packaged into simple programs for normal to dry, oily to problematic and sensitive skin types. 

L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C serums have rejuvenating and anti-oxidant effects for our Victoria, BC skin care patients. Whereas traditional sunscreens need to be reapplied every 2 to 4 hours, Vitamin C serums confer protection for a full day – filling the gaps between sunscreen applications and maximizing total protection from solar radiation - UV and Infrared.
