Photorejuvenation

Benefits/How It Works

Benefits:

Photorejuvenation treatments in Victoria, BC utilize IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) as a non-invasive treatment to provide lasting improvement to redness, flushing, rosacea, sun-damaged skin, and other facial imperfections.  IPL Photorejuvenation will enhance treated skin for a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.  At Cosmedica in Victoria, BC, patients enjoy the many benefits of IPL Photorejuvenation: the removal of brown spots may be improved with the addition of microdermabrasion between treatments (Photorejuvenation Plus); diminished redess and brown age/sun spots; softened lines and wrinkles; photodynamic therapy may also be added to treat visible and invisible pre-cancerous sun damage (Photorejuvenation Boost).

Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Mark Lupin understands the significance of patient safety and comfort. His practice is dedicated to providing high-quality cosmetic medical care for patients on Vancouver Island.

How It Works:

Dr. Lupin offers IPL Photorejuvenation technology for his Victoria, BC patients with the use of the Quantum SR/DL system, the gold standard for photorejuvenation. The Quantum has built-in additional safety with an actively cooled treatment head to protect the skin. A broad spectrum of therapeutic light penetrates from the epidermis into the collagen layer of the skin to achieve significant remodelling as well as esthetic improvements to the superficial skin.

Treatment time with IPL Photorejuvenation is quick – a great option for those with busy schedules. A series of 5 treatments every 3 weeks is recommended in order to see optimal results. Downtime is minimal, usually taking the treated spot a few minutes to hours for any flushing to settle. Further, the addition of the Quantum Nd:YAG laser can help treat fine lines, especially on the face, neck, chest and hands where sun damage is apparent.
