How It Works:
Dr. Lupin offers IPL Photorejuvenation technology for his Victoria, BC patients with the use of the Quantum SR/DL system, the gold standard for photorejuvenation. The Quantum has built-in additional safety with an actively cooled treatment head to protect the skin. A broad spectrum of therapeutic light penetrates from the epidermis into the collagen layer of the skin to achieve significant remodelling as well as esthetic improvements to the superficial skin.
Treatment time with IPL Photorejuvenation is quick – a great option for those with busy schedules. A series of 5 treatments every 3 weeks is recommended in order to see optimal results. Downtime is minimal, usually taking the treated spot a few minutes to hours for any flushing to settle. Further, the addition of the Quantum Nd:YAG laser can help treat fine lines, especially on the face, neck, chest and hands where sun damage is apparent.
Brown sun spots, sun damage and flushing of rosacea. Good for fair skin. Not suitable for those who are tanned.
How It Feels:
A snapping sensation with flash of bright light. Generally well tolerated.
Some flushing immediately following the procedure - may take minutes to hours to settle. Brown spots or uneven pigmentation will temporarily darken until the spots come off. Rare crusting, bruising and prolonged swelling.
Recommend a series of five treatments every three weeks. Maintenance treatments may be helpful and are commonly two to three times per year.
