How It Works:
Using high intensity ultrasound energy, LipoSonix™ applies focused pulses to targeted fatty areas, selectively destroying fat cells while leaving surrounding tissues and structures unharmed. Destroyed fat cells are gradually cleared by the body's natural cleansing processes and transported to the liver where they will be used as energy.
LipoSonix™ is a unique body contouring technology - high energy output creates a thermal effect at a specific depth to target fat and simultaneously stimulate collagen production, effectively tightening skin. Liposonix® treats in a series of pulses until a grided treatment area has been thoroughly covered. Within 8-12 weeks of a single treatment, the average patient sees a circumferential reduction of approx. 1 inch (2.8 cm) as well as smoother skin.

Ideal For:
Healthy individuals seeking to target an area of localized, stubborn fat. LipoSonix™ is not a weightloss solution but is an excellent alternative for those who do not wish for surgical liposuction and are realistic about results. The ideal candidate has a BMI of under 30 and can pinch an inch of fat in the area to be treated.
How It Feels:
Treatment sensation is described as prickly heat, intermittent throughout each 60-second pulse. Most patients receive oral analgesics for maximum comfort and arrange a driver.
Downtime:
Little to no downtime is expected. Bruising and swelling may persist for up to 2 weeks. A compression garment can eliminate or reduce the duration of bruising and swelling. There is indication for time away from regular activities.
Treatment Time:
The average abdominal treatment will require approximately 1 hour: 15 minutes for treatment preparation and 45-60 minutes of dedicated treatment time.
Frequency:
LipoSonix™ is indicated as a single treatment. The desire for additional treatments is considered after a 3 month follow-up assessment.
