How It Works:
The laser spot removal procedure varies depending on what is being treated and which laser or light system is being used. The Ultrapulse Encore CO2 laser is used to precisely remove protruding moles and skin tags. Pigment-specific lasers such as the [link: RevLite®
are used to fade or remove flat moles, tattoos, and irregular brown coloration. Lasers for blood vessels treat red spots, including cherry spots. The Quantum SR/DL system utilizes IPL technology to treat a combination of red and brown discoloration simultaneously.
Moles in cosmetically sensitive areas, skin tags, brown age spots and red lesions.
How It Feels:
Varies depending on what is being treated. Usually minimal discomfort as topical or local anesthetics may be used.
Some spots will be removed immediately and others may take time to clear. With the normal healing process, a dark crust may form and minor itchiness may be felt. This lasts a few days.
Most spots clear with one treatment depending on the type of spot. In some cases, the intention is to reduce rather than eliminate a spot. Subsequent treatments may be required.
