Laser Resurfacing

Benefits/How It Works

Benefits:

At our practice in Victoria, British Columbia, skin rejuvenation can be accomplished with the Fraxel re:pair®, Fraxel re:store™ DUAL and Ultrapulse Encore CO2 lasers. These lasers are suitable for a range of mild to more assertive treatments. They can remove surface imperfections and dramatically reduce lines and wrinkles. They provide a more comprehensive improvement for wrinkles and sun damaged skin, rather than treating one wrinkle or sun spot at a time.

Several benefits of laser resurfacing are:

  • Reduced lines and wrinkles
  • Increased collagen production
  • Tighter skin
  • Improved sun damage
  • Healthier skin
How It Works:

During laser skin rejuvenation treatments, laser energy is used to remove the upper layers of sun damaged skin while stimulating new collagen for healthier skin. The Fraxel laser leaves areas of the skin intact while multiple microscopic pixels of infrared laser light penetrate deeply, leading to improvement of irregular texture and removal of unwanted brown pigmentation. Wrinkles soften and become less noticeable and the appearance of brown spots will lessen. Treatments will vary in how they feel, and the downtime differs depending on the level of treatment.   The Fraxel re:store DUAL laser system is able to treat not only the face but also the neck, chest, arms, hands and other body areas.
