Glycolic Treatments
Benefits/How It Works
Superficial fine imperfections and blemishes are improved while gently encouraging the skin’s natural ability to remodel. This leads to a fresher, brighter, less sallow appearance. It may improve the look of fine wrinkles, acne and brown discolouration.
Glycolic acid is a natural sugar cane or fruit acid and is applied to the skin to encourage exfoliation. Once applied, glycolic acid reacts with the upper layer of the epidermis, weakening the binding properties of the lipids that hold the dead skin cells together. This allows the outer skin to "dissolve" revealing the underlying, healthier, smoother, brighter-looking skin.
