Benefits/How It Works
Fraxel re:pair® can help men and women in Victoria, British Columbia achieve their skin rejuvenation goals. This fractionated CO2 laser allows for mild to moderate skin resurfacing of the face, neck, chest and hands, balancing safety with results. The Fraxel re:pair laser penetrates deep beneath the skin in the treated area while leaving surrounding skin intact, making it an attractive alternative to traditional CO2 lasers.
Fraxel re:pair treats a variety of skin imperfections such as:
Wrinkles and furrows
If you are considering Fraxel in Victoria, BC, please send us an email
or call us at (250) 598-3300 or (877) 598-3380. Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Mark Lupin understands the significance of patient safety and comfort. His practice is dedicated to providing high-quality cosmetic medical care for patients on Vancouver Island.
How It Works:
The Fraxel re:pair laser uses microscopic pixels of ablative laser energy to remove a portion of sun damaged skin and scars while leaving surrounding areas untouched for more rapid healing compared to older resurfacing lasers. Unwanted pigment is reduced and uneven skin texture is improved. New collagen continues to form for up to 6 months following treatment, allowing for a gradual, subtle tightening effect.
At our office in Victoria, the Fraxel laser can treat most body areas. The re:pair treatment can be performed by itself or with the Fraxel re:store DUAL™
laser. These lasers offer an effective way to achieve skin rejuvenation.
Those with moderately aged, lax and sun damaged skin, scarrring and irregular colouration or texture. Most body areas can be treated including the face and neck.
How It Feels:
The sensation has been likened to a prickly heat feeling as the laser glides over the skin. Topical and local anesthetic is used along with oral analgesics. The skin is cooled with the Zimmer Cryo-5 air cooler.
Fraxel re:pair requires 5 days of true downtime. Actual downtime will vary from individual to individual. Immediately following treatment, special home care and cleansing instructions are provided. A bronzy pinkness and swelling may persist for several days to weeks.
40-60 minutes for the average full face treatment; up to 90 minutes when including the neck.
Fraxel re:pair is recommended initially as a single treatment although subsequent treatments may be considered either with the Fraxel re:pair or Fraxel re:store lasers.
